Our four sisters from Haiti and the Leadership Team spent an enjoyable and fruitful four days together last week. From May 3 to 6, in exchanges and discussions facilitated by Ms. Marisa Guerin, our missionaries shared information and concerns about their situations and projects in Gros Morne and Jean Rabel.
Together we studied our ministries in light of the values that can promote systemic change.
This study is a ‘work in progress,’ but we hope that these values can guide future planning for ministry in Haiti.
It was not all work: the grounds of the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center in Marriottsville, MD, provided a beautiful setting for relaxing, the chapel a sacred space for liturgy and private prayer, and a local high school group offered a lovely evening concert toward the end of the week. In the accompanying photos, you can see that no one looks the worse for wear!
